Estimate how much Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) you could receive based on your average weekly earnings, qualifying days and time off sick. This version uses the standard 2026 to 2027 SSP weekly rate of £123.25 and applies the usual 3 waiting days before SSP starts.
SSP is usually paid by your employer if you qualify. This calculator uses the GOV.UK guidance that eligible employees can get £123.25 per week or 80% of normal weekly earnings, whichever is lower, for up to 28 weeks. It is a planning estimate, not payroll advice.
The calculator first checks whether weekly earnings meet the lower earnings limit, then works out the weekly SSP rate, converts that into a daily rate using your qualifying work days, removes the first 3 waiting days, and caps the result at 28 weeks.
